KATE HARGREAVES

CEO

Kate Hargreaves is the Founder & CEO of MusicEDU, a platform she launched in 2011 to make contemporary music education accessible and industry-aligned in high schools. With a background in music technology, curriculum development, and business leadership, Kate has worked at Yamaha Music Australia and Casio Keyboards. A recognized leader in music education innovation, she has presented at TiME, TMEA, and NJMEA. Passionate about student engagement and catering for differentiation, Kate’s initiatives & vision have led to a 118% increase in elective music enrolments at subscribing schools, transforming music departments worldwide.

MICHAEL AVERY

CIO

Michael Avery is an innovator in music EdTech with 25 years of experience designing and creating award-winning educational apps and platforms, including Sibelius Compass, GroovyMusic, and the MusicFirst Junior LMS. He has held senior roles at Sibelius Software, Avid Europe, MusicFirst, and Parsons Music Corporation, where he led product development and worked with global teams, building products that contributed to seven-figure acquisitions in the K–12 market. As CIO of MusicEDU, Michael applies his market insight with his expertise in EdTech, learning management systems, and AI to create scalable, cutting-edge solutions, shaping the future of music education technology worldwide.

SIMON ALLEN

FINANCIAL ADVISOR

Simon Allen is a strategic finance advisor to MusicEDU, bringing over 25 years of experience in tax, finance, and growth strategy for innovation-driven businesses. As founder of Trover Tax and Finance, Simon has worked with startups, creatives, and scaling enterprises to navigate complex financial environments, with a focus on cash flow, compliance, and investment readiness. His background includes senior roles at PwC and Deloitte, as well as deep involvement with high-growth tech and education companies. At MusicEDU, Simon provides critical financial oversight and commercial insight, supporting the company’s global expansion and helping shape a sustainable, scalable future for music education technology.
